Terms
By taking a minute or making an account on OWN.time, you agree to these terms.
You hold this minute until someone pays more. When that happens you do not get your money back, and nothing is paid to you.
- This is a game
- OWN.time is a game played for fun. You pay to have your name shown on a clock at one minute of the day, until someone else pays more for that minute.
- Holding a minute gives no rights to anything
- You do not get any goods, any licence, any share in anything, or any claim on anyone. "Holding" means only that the site shows your name at that minute while you are the holder.
- It is not an investment
- A hold has no money value. It pays nothing, now or later. When someone takes your minute you do not get your money back and nothing is paid to you. Do not spend money here hoping to get money out: you will not.
- Holds cannot be sold or transferred
- You cannot sell, swap, give away or pass on a hold, on this site or anywhere else. A minute changes hands only when another player takes it here by paying the next price.
- Content can be removed
- A person reviews every name, message and picture. We can refuse or remove any of them at any time, for any reason, including after we approved them. If that happens you keep the minute and can change your text or picture. No links, no contact details, nothing hateful, sexual, threatening or unlawful, nothing that pretends to be someone else, and nothing that breaks someone else's rights.
- Prices and payment
- The price to take a minute is shown before you pay. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card. All payments are final, except in the one case described on the refunds page.
- The shield
- A new holder cannot be taken over for 24 hours. We may change this and other numbers of the game for future takes. A change never undoes a take that has already happened.
- Your account
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what is done with your account. One person should not use many accounts to get round the rules.
- Who can play
- You must be at least 18 years old, and allowed to use the site under the law where you live.
- If the site is down or ends
- We try to keep the clock running, but we do not promise it will always be up or that it will run for ever. If the game ends, holds end with it and no money is returned, because a hold has no money value.
- Our responsibility
- The site is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from using it, beyond the amount you paid us in the last 30 days.
- Changes to these terms
- We may change these terms. The date at the foot of this page shows the last change. If you keep playing after a change, you accept it.
