How it works
A game played on the 1,440 minutes of the day.
You hold this minute until someone pays more. When that happens you do not get your money back, and nothing is paid to you.
- The board
- There are 1,440 minutes in a day, from 00:00 to 23:59. Each one can have one holder at a time.
- Holding a minute
- When you hold a minute, your name, your short message, your flag and your picture show on the big clock every day when that minute comes round. Each visitor sees it when the clock where they are reads that time.
- The price
- A minute nobody holds costs $1. After that, each take costs $2 more than the last price paid: $1, $3, $5, $7 and so on.
- Taking a minute from someone
- Anyone can take a minute by paying the next price. The holder before them loses the minute. They do not get their money back, and nothing is paid to them.
- The shield
- A new holder is shielded for 24 hours. Nobody can take the minute during that time. The minute page shows when the shield ends.
- Names, messages and pictures
- A name can be up to 40 characters and a message up to 80. No links. Names and messages are checked automatically and show at once if they pass. Anything with contact details or rude words waits for a person to read it; until then the minute shows "awaiting review". We can take down any name or message later. A person looks at every picture before it shows. The take counts at once either way. You can change your name and message at any time from My minutes; changes are checked again.
- Accounts
- You do not need an account to take a minute, only an email. If you make an account with the same email, the minutes you hold appear in your profile, and you can add a picture. Your email is never shown to anyone.
- When two people pay at once
- While you are at the payment page the minute is kept for you for 10 minutes. If someone else still gets the minute first, your payment is sent back automatically. See refunds.
- What holding a minute is not
- It is a game. Holding a minute gives you no rights to anything. It cannot be sold, passed on or cashed in, and it pays nothing. The full terms are here.
